On 12th August
1990, a public meeting was held in Dandadhar Baruah Girls’ High School to
discuss the establishment of a B.Ed. College in Golaghat. The meeting
unanimously resolved to start a B.Ed. Accordingly, a steering committee was formed in the same meeting with President Late Ponaram Neog and Secretary Mr. Kosheswar Khanikar to take the necessary steps to execute the
resolution. The steering committee built a fund-collecting public donations.
Then the college obtained permission from Dibrugarh University to start the
classes. Dandadhar Baruah Girls’ High School authority allowed to hold the B.Ed.
Classes in the school building in the evening hours from July 1991. ( read more )
